Vista SP1 is still on the way

Since the release of the latest Windows version(Vista) many eagerly awaits its first service pack. Why – because it will turn it into a fully workable OS…or at least most of us hope so. According to the latest info, the SP1 for vista(code name Fiji) will be out in the second half of 2007 and most probably in the late autumn. Some sites(forums), like Vista SP1 Hotfixes have been discussing for months the fixes that will e included in Fiji and show that they care of what will turn out to be in the patched OS.
Of course, there si some place for negativism. Many expected this OS to try to keep up with the promised and be stable and so on….and now it turns out that less than a year after the official release, the developers are working on the first SP. But on the bright side, this means that they are filling he gaps;)
In the meantime, some sites like Daily Tech created vast discussions on the topic. Some, I think rightfully, believe that this update will come to add Windows Server 2007′s abilities to the new OS. Actually, Windows Server Longhorn will be out in this period but, on the other hand, this cannot be the only reason.
To sum up, we all expect that the patched OS will be enough to replace XP in its lifetime and start a clean new way. Of course, I believe that some technology like OpenGL support etc. should return for the low end PCs…but it’s not a must, if there is some REAL compatibility mode for it. Moreover, the RTM soft was not enough, so we can hope that by this time there will be a vast choice in front of us. Till then, our Vista CDs can calmly rest in their cases.
