Half Life 2: Orange Box

Today I finally got my hands on the so anticipated Half Life 2: Orange Box. It’s amazing, because instead of 5 you receive even 7 games to play…after you have properly activated your copy, the system offers to install:
Half Life 2
Half Life 2: Lost Island
Half Life 2: Episode 1
Half Life 2: Episode 2
Peggle
Portal
Team Fortress 2
But I said properly…believe me, it’s not a pleasant surprise to understand, that the game you have bought is ment for downloading by Steam(especially when you are like me – obliged to have a slow connection). So I was a bit disapointed at first, but I had some ideas, even planning to download the games from the net, install them and use my Steam ID. But it’s much simpler. I will explain the best way for solving the problem
(at least I find it easiest and less time and net consuming).
1. Enter DVD1 and start the file with steam icon.
2. Install with any language(I chose Dutch, because I have studied German before and there are some common words). After all, there are only a few words to understand and in most of the cases even the situation of the buttons will lead you.
3. After the successful installation I changed the language to English(from the 4th option in the first drop down menu from the main menu in the top of the window). I chose Engels or whatever it was in Dutch:). Restart Steam.
4. In order not to download the whole games:
- Deny online installation of the games;
- Insert your DVD1(if you have removed it for any reason);
- Start the steam-like icon again and then again choose some language(this time it does not matter at all). The installer runs in the Steam language that you have chosen by default. It asks you which one of the described games should it install.
5. Install the ones you like, update them and – voalla. Enjoy the HL2 bliss from above:)
