I personally like the viral ads, that are well targeted and well done. The first thought of every IT marketeer nowadays is, “let’s do a viral”. There is nothing bad in this idea, just the creation of such a promo material requires real knowledge of the targeted group of people and, hat is most important, knowledge of their interests. So once the hook is created you have the perfect ad.
Recently I have found a very interesting combination between a product and promotion that was a viral package. This is the Puma Index iPhone application that is promoted in Youtube and many other social networks. If you have not seen it -- here is the video.
